Umbrella policies “lay on top” of and in addition to the liability limits of the underlying coverages.

COVERAGEs
Personal Umbrella coverage: This coverage increases your liability limit over and above your personal policies. For example, if you have $100,000 in personal liability coverage on your homeowners and personal auto policies, a $1,000,000 umbrella policy increases your liability coverage to $1,100,000.
Commercial Umbrella coverage: This coverage acts the same as way as the Personal Umbrella by increasing the liability coverage over your commercial liability and commercial auto policies.
